Our Ministries
|
As Franciscan Sisters
we see ourselves as part of the greater human family striving to
transform our world through justice, peace, and integrity of
creation. We have chosen to utilize the beautiful grounds, buildings, and facilities of our
provincial house campus to provide services,
activities, and programs designed to enhance the total well-being of
individuals, families and groups.
Our ministries at Mount Saint Francis include Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, the Franciscan Retreat and
Conference Center, Mount Saint Francis Nursing Center, and Franciscan
Community Counseling. Another important way of enhancing
the total well-being of individuals and families, especially women and children,
is our Women Partnering ministry located in the center of Colorado Springs.
Still other Sisters minister in parishes, hospitals, and other social
arenas, all enhancing the total well-being of the greater human family. |

Our Mission
We, the sisters of Saint Francis of Perpetual
Adoration, Saint Joseph Province, are a community of Catholic women religious.
We are called to continue the mission of Jesus as we follow in the footprints of
Francis, Clare, and our foundress, Mother Maria Theresia Bonzel.
Empowered by our charism of Eucharistic and
lived adoration and the love we share in community, we witness the Gospel values
of conversion, contemplation, poverty, and humility by:
--Standing in solidarity with those who are in any
way poor or powerless,
--Addressing unmet needs of our times with
justice, mercy and compassion,
--Reverencing all of creation.

Franciscan Retreat
Center
The Sisters maintain a retreat and conference
center which provides overnight accommodations and meeting facilities to
groups or individuals seeking an environment permeated by the beauty of
God's creation.

Franciscan Community
Counseling
The Sisters sponsor a non-profit
community service agency that promotes holistic living through
psychological counseling, testing, and personal and family
enrichment programs. In the spirit of the Franciscan
tradition, FCC's services assist others in maintaining or restoring
their mental, social, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being
without discrimination for any reason and regardless of ability to
pay.

Justice, Peace and
Integrity of Creation
This ministry flows from the Mission
and Vision Statements of the Colorado Springs Province of the
Sisters of Saint Francis of Perpetual Adoration.
"...As Franciscan women, following Francis and Clare of Assisi
and our foundress, Maria Theresia Bonzel, we are committed to
transform the world into a community of peace through justice:
● promoting systemic
change
● standing in solidarity with
the poor and powerless
● promoting mutuality and
collaboration."

Women
Partnering
Women Partnering exists to fulfill the mission of the Sisters of St. Francis
of Colorado Springs. We are a network of women from diverse
backgrounds who respond to the unmet needs of financially vulnerable women
and children in the Colorado Springs area. Women Partnering works to
provide services to those financially vulnerable women and children, raise
awareness of their plight and advocate policy change on their behalf.

Although our provincial house in
Colorado Springs is "home" for
all the Sisters of our Province, several Sisters are engaged in
active ministry at other
locations. Currently, the
Sisters of our Saint Joseph
Province are ministering in
other areas of Colorado as well
as in Nebraska, New Mexico,
Kansas, California and Kentucky.
